Our Mission

To organize, educate and motivate America's youth with regard to the continuing struggle to save our species and our planet from the effects of man-made climate alteration.

To provide an infrastructure that will allow our students to combine their individual and local efforts with a nationwide movement that will eventually encompass the globe.

To empower our most concerned citizens with the communication and implementation tools necessary to change the way we regard our natural resources and results in a healthier and safer global lifestyle.

Finally, to lead by example and demonstrate to the people of Planet Earth how to protect and nurture our precious birthright.

GTA Projects

Green Team America has been compared to the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a unique concept from the Franklin Roosevelt administration, to help America recover from the Great Depression. The idea was to empower a vast number of young people to arrest and remediate the effects of man-made crises very similar to the situation we face today. The solution then, as now, is in the projects:

Project GLOW
(Good Lighting for Our World)

We already know that Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs) will make a real difference in the electric bill at home. They will also make a difference in the electric "bill" our country has to pay for generating so much of our power through burning coal. The problem is getting every household in the country to make the switch to CFLs and do it sooner rather
than later before later is too late!

GTA clubs across the country are coordinating to implement a continuous program of trading
old fashioned light bulbs for new energy-saving CFLs. Students bring their old bulbs from home and trade them for CFLs provided absolutely free through GTA affiliated sponsors and corporate underwriters, this is especially important in areas where families may not be able to afford the initial cost of CFLs and need to lower their energy costs.
